H&E Nursery‘s passion is plants! We offer quality plant products that meet the needs of our climate. With store locations in Fresno – across the street from River Park and in Clovis – on Shaw Avenue, just east of Temperance, we are committed to helping you with all of your gardening needs.
The original building was just a 10×10 red shack that housed the nursery operations for the first few years and, in 1975, the ClovisH&E Nursery store was built and became home to both the retail and wholesale business. To add more versatility to H&E, Roy and Francisco began growing annual flats of flowers, which became an integral part of their success. In the fall of 1984, long before River Park was a glimmer in the eyes of the community, the Fresno store on Nees Avenue opened. The goal was to offer customers on the North end of town the same quality plants in an area underserved by other nurseries. With its tranquil surroundings, wonderful natural landscape, waterfalls, and Koi ponds, the store became a quiet respite in the middle of town.
In 2007, Mark Luallen, owner and very successful landscaper of Mark Luallen Landscaping, took over both locations of H&E Nursery. He hired Rigo Hernandez, a Fresno State Graduate with a degree in horticulture, to manage the Clovis location and he kept all of the hard working, knowledgeable staff on site as their expertise demonstrates an understanding of the nursery business.
H&E Nursery has improved and prospered since 2007. The nursery grows more than 30,000 flats of annual flowers each fall and spring season. These flowers excite and entice both our wholesale and retail customers as they allow them to add splashes of color and pizzazz to their yards and to shopping centers throughout the central valley.
